bld Restaurant Chandler Arizona

This 465 sm (5000 sf) Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner so it needed to incorporate all of the elements required to be successful during those periods of the day. The restaurant is divided into 3 areas. A breakfast and lunch space that happens near the entry where daylight is plentiful with 2 top tables. A dinner dining area off to the side that incorporates 4 top and 6 top tables with a dimmer dining atmosphere and a bar area with seating arrangements more conducive to socializing. bld website

Liberty Market Restaurant Gilbert, Arizona

John Chonka was retained by restaurateur Joe Johnston to transform the existing grocery market originally constructed in 1939 into a new urban restaurant featuring bistro type food, imported beers, wine and espresso based drinks. The original market was utilized for its old flavor as market, service and dining
area while a new contemporary structure was designed to accommodate the new kitchen, restrooms and
second level apartment. Liberty Market has enjoyed immediate success as Gilbert’s new hip, urban meeting place and should endure success in the coming years because of it’s excellent product and design timelessness. Liberty Market Website

AZ88 Restaurant Scottsdale, Arizona

This design in collaboration with Janis Leonard Design Associates incorporates the Owner’s desire for shaded exterior dinging with that of a processional gateway to the existing restaurant entrance. The suspension steel sculpture allows for seasonal adjustment of the shade armatures to provide shade during the warmer periods of the year and during cooler months can be adjusted to allow the sun to penetrate warming customers. The canopies are constructed from fiberglass and are internally lit with neon to provide a warm illuminating effect suitable for nighttime dining. Virtual Tour

Wildflower Bread Company Restaurants

The Wildflower Bread Company stores consist of approximately 4,400sf (408sm) and are a “Fast Casual”, counter order, food delivered concept. These restaurants are a “Third Place” where customers can meet others, exchange and share outside of their work or home environments. This is achieved through an open, warm and community friendly environment where it is possible meet and engage with others. Though there are many locations each one is designed uniquely and is specific to the neighborhood where it is located. Chonka Projekt provided all of the Architectural, Interior Design and Engineering services required for implementation of these restaurants.
